On Saturday, June 20, 2009, the Joshua David Gardner Memorial Scholarship Endowment held its second walk-a-thon at beautiful Fox Run Regional Park, in Monument Colorado. The family-centered event was held to raise funds for the Endowment Scholarship Fund. More than $2,000 was raised by walkers.
This year, special guest Joe Jackson, Joe Jackson Foundation located in Phoenix, AZ participated in the walk. Mr. Jackson's participation brought awareness to the needs for improving the quality of life for children with Spinal Cord Injury and to provide adaptive equipment. The Joe Jackson Foundation was created by Joe's calling to primarily help inspire individuals disabled by SCI to continue living actively.
